My Favorite Romantic Love Poem Is "Love's Trinity"

Love's Trinity
(by Alfred Austin )

Soul, heart, and body, we thus singly name,
Are not in love divisible and distinct,
But each with each inseparably link'd.
One is not honour, and the other shame,
But burn as closely fused as fuel, heat, and flame.

They do not love who give the body and keep
The heart ungiven; nor they who yield the soul,
And guard the body. Love doth give the whole;
Its range being high as heaven, as ocean deep,
Wide as the realms of air or planet's curving sweep.

How wonderful it is to share my poem of poems!!

I have so many favorites to fit different occasions, but if I have to pick one it would "Love's Trinity". Who here can say they do not agree with Austin -- do we all not want to find a love that is complete?

To love the body, mind and soul there is nothing more or less when these unit -- in love!

When I was a younger women I would try to find the perfect love -- but it was a mistake. Nobody is perfect, the attractive man turns ugly with a cold heart and visa versa.

The error in thinking was that anything less is settling. What I have discovered is that perfect love is a end not a starting point.

As Austin tells us "Its range being high as heaven, as ocean deep..." to this means our love needs a life time to become this greatness

Love to all - Alison
