Choosing a kegel
device today can be an overwhelming experience considering
the number of products.
- Energie

- PMTx
- Kegelcisor
- KD (Kegel Dynamics )
- Kegel Enhansor
- Kegelpro
- Kegelmaster 2000

Unfortunately, most of the kegal exercisers, are cheap
copy-cats and actually can do more harm than good.
Despite swirling controversy we feel that The FeminX "Kegel
Exerciser" manufactured by A Personal Solution, Inc, and Kegal
Master are comparable.
The most import distinction is that both devices appear as medical
recommended kegel exercise device (i.e. can be covered with a health
insurance policy).
The only weakness in our review of A Personal Solution, Inc is
their aggressive promotion of the The television series American
Medical Review which profiled the FeminX "Kegel Exerciser"
for national TV brodcast.
A Personal Solution, Inc strongly emphasize that the show is hosted
by Morley Safer and attempts to give the viewer the impression that
the device is being independently reviewed.
Tisk, tisk, tisk..... shame on you A Personal Solution, Inc - you
have such a great product why would you do such a thing?
Anyways, it is important to stress the American Medical Review
is not an objective report.
So view it as a commercial!
In my research of American Medical Review which is produced by
the production company WJMK, it appears these shows are a paid promotions
by medical and pharmaceutical companies.
Apparently companies pay up to $15,000 for a 2-5 min plug on the
product. And the company is given editorial control.
For what it is worth you can view the truth about the Kegel device
industury on the A Personal Solution, Inc website. It still very
informative and educational.
Despite this questionable marketing strategy from both companoes,
here are the 5 key factors that make the FeminX kegel device
and KegelMaster 2000 products stand out:
variable resistance kegal device
-
received marketing clearance as medical device
-
Clinical studies to prove effectiveness & Safety
-
100% FDA Approved Materials:
-
Over-insertion protection
-
Good value: Range $59 - $99
Currently there are no other comparable kegel devices on
the market today like the Kegelmaster 2000 and FeminX.
The Kegal Master has gained popularity in the public, but
has been severly criticized by leading sex health experts Dr. Laura
Berman, co-director and sex therapists for the Women's Sexual Health
Clinic at Boston University Medical Center, who believes
the Kegelmaster 2000 could actually injure the PC muscles.
Note that Kegelmaster found H. David Wallick boosts that
the Kegelmaster 2000 has 14 levels of resistance.
However, some medical pacticioners claim there is no need
for 14 levels of resistance.
In fact it is dangerous!
Dr. Laura Berman is quoted in Glamour Magazine on this comment
on the Kegelmaster2000:
"Overstitching those muscles may result in damaging their
ability to contract and could also result in loss of sensation,
as well as tearing and scarring..."
And so with that statement which probable, was taken out of context
has created and rivilary between Kegelmaster 2000 and FeminX.
To counter these claims, Kegelmaster is so confident in their product
that they offered a triple back money guarantee at one time. Here
is more specifics on KegelMaster
2000.
Why FDA Approval is Important
The FeminX Kegel Exerciser received the first marketing clearance
by the FDA as a 510(K) Medical Device.
This is an important distinction as a kegel device.
The FDA requires the first applicant ("FeminX Kegel Exerciser")
to prove:
Safety
-
Quality
-
Effectiveness
Subsequent applicants do not have to prove this.
They only have to show a likeness between their product and first
FDA cleared product.
The Kegelmaster has been on the market more than four years before
they redesigned their product with many of the same safety features
as the "FeminX Kegel Exerciser" and only recently
received FDA clearance.
However, in November 2004 the FDA
issued a Kegel Device manufacturing and marketing warning letter
to Kegelmaster 2000 founder David Warick On numerous violations.
The most important violation by Kegelmaster 2000 is that it claimed
to have "FDA safety approval" which it DOES NOT.
Combine this false claim of safety with the comments of Dr. Berman
you have what some may call a dangerous product.
But I do not agree with this conclusion - they both seem to be
very similar!
