Heaven, even at a glance...

It seems that time stood still...
In this one point of my life,
Where the physical portion of you...
Was cut away from me with a knife,
Looking back on things I wonder...
How we could have changed,
Would our paths be together and not different...
Would we have become estranged?
As my mind keeps racing...
For an answer to come about,
I soon realize that living without you...
Is something our fate's surely doubt,
For even throughout all this distance...
Our bodies cannot touch,
But with you on my mind I become at ease...
Because I love you ever so much,
And through all the pain that we've felt...
The history and all our dates,
Rising through our troubles...
I finally see Heaven's gates,
You were waiting for me this whole time...
For my heart through God's intervening,
For me to get my life straight...
Your patience guided my heart with meaning,
As you sit there waiting for me...
At that big white gate,
Your heart had my heart...
Whether it be destiny or fate,
The reason of which to me...
Never really will matter,
Because you've laid out your life to me...
As if on Heaven's platter,
All I ask is to see you once more...
God give me one more chance,
Because having you in my life is more beautiful...
Than heaven, even at a glance.
This poem gives me hope that even though I am over 2500 miles away from my heart's desire, the time away will only bring us closer together. Being so far apart only brings me closer to her, my Jennifer.
